SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Bringing nearly 30 years experience in the information technology industry, Tim May, has vast experience which includes systems engineering, software development, sales and business development, along with operations and contract management, and continues to progress in roles of increasing visibility and leadership at Apptis.

Tim joined Apptis in March 2003 to construct the business development team as it was transitioning from its legacy value-added reseller business model to its current status of federal information technology and communications services provider. Tim established a more structured business development pursuit process and introduced an agile sales lifecycle approach within the organization. With this underway, he transitioned to the role of general manager of the Civilian Sector of Apptis, where he managed and led the team that drove business solutions and contracts within the federal civilian market segment.

Beginning in 2008, Tim again transitioned to perform corporate development. As senior vice president, he has successfully led key acquisitions bringing critical federal contracting vehicles to the Apptis portfolio. In addition, Tim works with a select team of Apptis subject matter technologists to evaluate industry trends and build differentiated Apptis technology service offerings around key trends. This team recently selected Cloud Computing within the federal marketplace and built a proven, trusted, and secure Cloud Computing lifecycle solution service offering. This early entry into the Cloud movement has positioned Apptis as a recognized industry thought leader in the Cloud Computing market within the federal government.

Prior to joining Apptis, Tim was vice president of sales for the state and local business sector at EDS where he managed national sales and business development efforts. Tim achieved EDS Inner Circle Status multiple times. Prior to EDS, Tim was also active in sales and marketing leadership for several companies, including a leading biometric security company and various start-ups.

Active in various industry associations, Tim participates in panel discussions and has been a keynote speaker at a number of conferences. Recently, Tim has been in demand to speak at industry events on Cloud Computing; and has led the initiatives to bring CloudCamp, the "Unconference," to the federal arena at the recent FOSE conference and to the Washington, DC, metro area.
