Former CIO of the U.S. Army Medical Department Joins Leading Systems Integrator
Chantilly, VA — December 11, 2006 – Apptis, Inc. today announced the hire of Colonel (retired) Barclay Butler as senior vice president in Apptis’ healthcare sector. In this role, Butler will lead the development of image-enabled electronic healthcare records, support healthcare operations through strategic planning, and provide consulting services for military, government and civilian healthcare organizations.
Butler’s deep scientific and medical research background, combined with his information management and technology professional experience, will enhance Apptis’ ability to apply innovative technologies to government, military and healthcare organizations.

Most recently, Butler served as vice president and general manager for the Information Manufacturing Corporation's (IMC) health services operations center. Prior to IMC, Butler was a senior program director at Oracle Corporation's Department of Defense (DoD) healthcare consulting. He is a retired CIO of the DoD Integrated Delivery System (IDS), a part of the U.S. army medical department, where he was responsible for executing support services for 8 academic medical centers and 40 hospitals, with more than 50,000 employees.
