Chantilly, VA — April 24, 2007 — Apptis Inc., a leading system integrator, today announced the selection of William Sieglein as senior director in the company’s commercial division, responsible for growing its professional service offerings in IT risk management. 

Sieglein brings more than 25 years of experience in information security, assurance, risk and compliance management to his new role. Prior to joining Apptis, Sieglein was the chief security officer at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and has served as an information security consultant to public and private clients for decades. Sieglein began his career in the U.S. intelligence community as both a civilian employee and a consultant.

“Bill’s extensive information technology and professional services experience will enable him to add value immediately to Apptis’ client engagements,” said Fred Muller, general manager of Apptis’ commercial sector. “Bill will leverage his knowledge to ensure that Apptis provides efficient and effective technology solutions and services to our commercial clients.”

In 2002, Sieglein co-authored a book entitled Security Planning & Disaster Recovery. His second book on the topic of IT security management will be released later this year. Sieglein is a frequent speaker at industry events including Information Systems Security Associations (ISSA) and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
