WMACCA Honors Paul Mamalian of Apptis With Corporate Counsel Award

Chantilly, VA — October 09, 2009 — Apptis, Inc., a leading provider of mission critical IT and communications services to key Defense and Civilian agencies, today announced that The Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association (WMACCA) has honored Paul Mamalian, Senior Vice President General Counsel and Secretary, with the Community Service Award.

WMACCA, the largest regional bar association for in-house counsel, presented its Annual Corporate Counsel Awards that honor the work of the Greater Washington region’s leading in-house counsel practitioners over the past year in the categories of Outstanding Chief Legal Officer, Outstanding In-House Counsel, Outstanding Law Department, and Community Service. Held at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner in McLean, Va., the awards reception attracted a crowd of more than 300 people from the legal and business communities.

Mamalian was selected as the winner of the Community Service Award in recognition for his work with Street Law, a program that goes into high schools to help teach students a variety of law concepts, broadening their understanding of law and business. Mamalian finds it extremely gratifying to connect with “at risk” youth whose only prior dealings with the law may have been negative. Mamalian also was recognized for his involvement with the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) of the National Capital Area for nearly 20 years. During that time he co-founded the local chapter’s young members group, served on the Board of Directors, and has volunteered for and chaired many events.

“Paul is an active participant in Apptis’ ongoing efforts to maximize the shareholders’ value in their investment with the company, but today it is his work outside of Apptis, with today’s youth, that we applaud him for,” said Bert Notini, Chairman and CEO. “We are extremely proud to have Paul as our General Counsel, he is a leader not only with Apptis but in the local community as well.”
