Apptis Names Olan Waldrop Regional Director DoD Programs

Retired Brigadier General, USAF to Lead Montgomery, AL Office

Chantilly, VA — January 05, 2010 — Apptis, Inc., a leading provider of essential IT and communications services to key Defense and Civilian agencies, today announced that Brigadier General Olan Waldrop (USAF Ret.) has joined the company as Regional Director DoD Operations. In this role, he will lead the Montgomery, Alabama office and will work with DoD customers throughout the Southeast region to develop technology solutions that meet mission needs and leverage existing technology investments.

Waldrop’s distinguished 31 year military career included service as General Counsel for Air Force Material Command in Dayton, OH; Commander of Air Force Legal Services Agency; General Counsel, Pacific Air Forces; and Principal Executive Assistant to the Judge Advocate General of the Air Force. Waldrop was a frequent lecturer at the Air University throughout his career.

A native of Alabama, Waldrop is actively involved in the Montgomery community. He just completed a two year term as President of the Montgomery AFCEA Chapter. He also served as Chairman of the Wright-Flyers, a military support division of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce. Waldrop is also President of the Air Force JAG School Foundation, a member of the AFMC Commander’s Civic Leader Program, and a member of the Air University Board of Trustees. He has also worked with Montgomery Chamber successfully in support of local BRAC issues.

Prior to joining Apptis, Waldrop served as Vice President and General Manager of Montgomery Solutions Center with EDS. He served as a program manager for Air Force Combat Ammunition Support as well as Defense Logistics Modernization.

Waldrop earned his BA and Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama.
