Deploying Defense
For years, we've supplied organizations throughout the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Armed Forces with the advanced IT solutions and services needed to support their global missions and information requirements - even as the Department has undergone sweeping changes. Today, the DoD's traditional war-fighting and deterrence missions have evolved to include peacekeeping, humanitarian relief, and homeland defense, while including the accelerated transformation to network-centric warfare.
These challenges require attention to detail while keeping projects on time and on budget - challenges that we are accustomed to supporting for a growing number of solutions. With worldwide program experience and international presence, our teams are organized to help you deliver today's technology solutions.

Cross-Jurisdictional Solutions – Public Safety. Often our IT solutions and applications must serve joint operations among city, county, state, and federal agencies. We’ve created networks and network solutions to link first responders and emergency response organizations across multiple levels of government. These have encompassed leading edge technologies, such as wide area voice environments, wireless, and integrated emergency communications.
Securing National Security
It has been an incredibly rewarding experience to meet the IT requirements of the national security arena during the past 20 plus years. Our experience has given us unique insights into the challenges America’s national security agencies face.
The knowledge we’ve gained is essential to anticipating, understanding, and preparing for the changes ahead. Today’s unforgiving security environment allows no margin for error. Inspired solutions are needed now. That makes a trusted technology advisor and resource like Apptis invaluable.

Travel Document Issuance System (TDIS). We developed and continue to support the Department of State’s TDIS. This enterprise passport management system processes 10.5 million passport applications a year. To accommodate post-9/11 security requirements, we modernized the TDIS as well as the supporting computing environment.
Electronic Passport Systems. Our people play a key role in the Department of State’s electronic passport initiative. Computer chips containing personal information, biometric data, and PKI/PKD security, electronic passports will prevent fraud and enhance coordination with international and domestic security networks.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Through this blanket purchase agreement with the Department of Homeland Security, we develop, supply, and deploy solutions for border crossing protection systems.
Key International Technical Standards. Working with the Department of State, we help give the U.S. a technical voice on key international standards committees. We’ve helped guide decisions on international communication, security, and cryptography issues, the use of contactless chips in travel documents and methods for encoding personal and biometric data in these chips.
